Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) & Student Outcomes (SOs)

The Phenikaa University Computer Science program is committed to producing graduates who possess the necessary skills to enter the CS/IT industry fully capable of performing entry-level tasks at the office and in the field. The graduates’ critical thinking, discipline and work ethics will be such that a short period of training and work experience will allow them to move into managerial positions.

Program Educational Objectives for Computer Science Program:

The undergraduate computer science program prepares students to achieve the following educational objectives within 3-5 years of graduation:

  • PEO1: Contribute to breakthroughs in computer science that provide computer-based solutions for a wide range of applications.
  • PEO2: Have successful careers in industry or academia, providing leadership for their profession.
  • PEO3: Be productive and ethical professionals.

Student Learning Outcomes:

At the time of graduation, CS students will have:

  • SO1: Analyze a complex computing problem and apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
  • SO2: Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
  • SO3: Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
  • SO4: Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
  • SO5: Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
  • SO6 (Program Criteria): Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions (CS).
