    Amazon Web Services was represented by Mr. Julian Lau, in charge of ASEAN Emerging Markets, Global Public Sector; Ms. Elaine Liew, Head of Edge Computing, Asia Pacific; Ms. Clara Chong, Start-up Business Development Manager; and Mr. Pham Minh Dung, Sales Manager of Government Client Division. The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Huy, President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Khanh, Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Hong Son, Dean of Faculty of Information Technology; and leaders of Phenikaa University’s departments and divisions.

    AWS and Phenikaa University discussed and agreed to collaborate on Cloud Computing Technology training and certification; as well as the AWS Startup Program.

    As a result, this collaboration assists students in updating and maintaining their cloud computing knowledge, expanding their career opportunities, and achieving the increasingly high standards of the labor market. In terms of the AWS Startup program, the two parties anticipate that it will provide Phenikaa University with numerous opportunities, in order to pursue the goal of becoming a smart university in the future.

    During the meeting, Ms. Clara Chong expressed her desire to assist Phenikaa University in the development of businesses in Phenikaa’s startup ecosystem. AWS not only provides infrastructure, but also offers a variety of programs and services to help startups get launched.

    Phenikaa University has joined the Amazon Web Services Academy as an official member since April 2021. The Academy offers AWS-created programs that equip students with the knowledge and skills they’ll need to meet the field’s growing demands. One of Phenikaa University’s startup member units is known to have used AWS services.

    The rapid advancement of technology has resulted in a large number of job openings that require high levels of global qualifications and career skills for students. Hopefully, Phenikaa University and AWS will work together more closely to better prepare students for their future careers.
