Representing Phenikaa Uni at the conference was Assoc.Prof Nguyen Phu Khanh - Vice Principal, Dr. Truong Quoc Dinh - Head of International Affair, and 3 representative from the IT project research team.
The conference also included representatives from various universities and businesses, such as Prof. Gerard Parr from the East Anglia University (UEA, UK), Assoc.Prof Đàm Sao Mai from the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, and Assoc.Prof Huynh Cong Phap from the Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, Leaders from FPT Software, Axon Active, Enovo Group, Code Engine Studio, Enclave, NiX Education, VNPT IT3, and CodeComplete Vietnam. There were also representatives from institutions around the country, as well as approximately 120 instructors and students from VKU.
During the seminar, the representative of the unit oversaw and led the five activities of the project. The project team from the Faculty of Information Technology, Phenikaa University consisted of Dr. Mai Xuan Trang, Dr. Chen Hùng, and Ph.D. Dr. Nguyen Thi Kheng Tram. They spoke on the topic “Improving student employment opportunities: Model Research of Phenikaa University.” The primary areas of interest for Phenikaa experts in the field of mining are courses with content provided by industry partners, short-term courses offered by industry partners, internships, the Capstone Project that aligns with industry demands, and the Student Club that receives support from sector partners.
Under the auspices of the British Council’s Going Global Partnership programme, the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology, Da Nang University, Phenikaa University, and the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City collaborated with the University of East Anglia (UEA, UK) on a project aimed at enhancing students’ recruitment readiness during the digital transition period. The ultimate objective of this collaboration is to transform these universities into international institutions while also contributing to the overall advancement of higher education in Vietnam.
Activity No. 5 of the project aims to provide faculty training on techniques and strategies for integrating employment skills into curriculum design in the context of digital transformation. The training will focus on specific content related to this objective.
A comprehensive examination of the requisite abilities for enhancing employment prospects, as viewed by teachers, students, and employers. Execution of educational programmes aimed at improving employment prospects at UEA, with a focus on the unique circumstances surrounding UEA’s one-year internship. VKU students’ internship programme. Enhance students’ job prospects through the utilisation of case studies from PU and IUH.
The UK-Vietnam Partnership Support Fund’s objective is to enhance the calibre and encourage the global expansion of higher education. This will be achieved through providing assistance in developing capabilities, facilitating the exchange of knowledge, and fostering collaborative endeavours in higher education between the United Kingdom and Vietnam. The focus areas include university leadership and administration, standardisation of degree programmes and quality assurance, as well as teaching and research, creative innovation, and knowledge transfer protocols. These efforts will span from the overall system level to the undergraduate level.
The project was executed for a span of three years, commencing in January 2022 and concluding in March 2024. The initiative received a grant of more than £100,000 in total. The following universities are recognised as entitled units: University of East Anglia, Phenikaa University, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology – Da Nang University, and Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City.
Simultaneously, the Project offers programming and activities that target three specific objectives: The goal is to enhance collaborations between Vietnamese and UK universities and enterprises, strengthen Vietnamese Information Technology training programmes to align with international standards and incorporate experiential learning, and establish a platform for knowledge and experience sharing between UK and Vietnamese higher education institutions and technology enterprises.
