Dr. Ngo Hong Son is an Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science at Phenikaa University. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Science from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Distributed Computing at Tohoku University, Japan. He also earned his M.Sc. from the Institut Francophone for Informatics and his B.Sc. in Information Technology from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST).

Prior to joining Phenikaa University in 2018, Dr. Son served in various leadership and academic roles at HUST, including Dean of the School of Information and Communication Technology and Vice Director of the Center for Training of Excellent Students. He has also contributed to higher education as an invited lecturer at VNU’s Institut Francophone for Informatics and held research roles in international institutions such as Grenoble INP (France) and Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium).

At Phenikaa University, Dr. Son is known for his leadership in curriculum innovation, faculty development, and student engagement. He has over 30 scholarly publications and remains active in organizing national and international academic events. He serves as President of the Vietnam Free Open-Source Software Association (VFOSSA) and is a prominent advocate for open-source technologies in education.
